Blank-Side Gob Loading
The funnel arm carries the funnel over the blank mould, holds it in line with the bore while the gob loads, then swings clear.
Every gob on the blank side passes through the funnel, so the arm that holds it has one job: put the funnel over the mould bore in the same place every cycle. A slack pivot or a bore machined off centre shows up as a gob that clips the funnel, drags chilled glass into the parison, and leaves a defect in the finished ware.
KVG makes the arm and the funnel mechanism that drives it, so the moving group is matched rather than mixed. Arms are cast and machined for single, double, triple and quad gob sections, in the material families we run — cast iron, SG iron and aluminium. Sizes and mounting follow the section the arm is going on, so it fits the blank side you already have.
What you get
A rigid casting with machined bores keeps the funnel in line with the blank bore, load after load.
We supply the funnel mechanism that drives the arm, so the drive and the moving part are made together to the same drawing set.
SG, DG, TG and QG layouts, cast and machined to suit the blank side you are running.
Our engineers read and edit digital drawings in-house, and the arm is made to interchange with the equipment already fitted.
